Team Virginia Paving Company wins RJS Scholarship Tournament on Cinco de Mayo

The first Richard J. Schreck Scholarship tournament for 2021 is in the bag, and what a great event to start off the year. The Tidewater Committee held their tournament on Wednesday, May 5, at the Riverfront Golf Club, and the weather couldn’t have been better!

A battle ensued, early, between Virginia Paving’s team of Eddie Manley, Del Baker, Charles Tamayo, and Dave Corbin and the Astec, Inc. team of Richard Schreck, Jeff Baugh, David Horton, and David Branscome, Jr. At the end of the day, Virginia Paving’s team came out on top with a score of 16 under par to Team Astec’s score of 14 under par. Congratulations also to the longest drive winner, Eddie Manley and the closest to the pin winners, Tim Adams and David Horton.

Our next tournament will be at Bull Run Golf Club in Haymarket, VA, on August 13. Be on the lookout for more information on the VAA website regarding this event.
