Innovation Connection Webcast: HaulHub discusses e-ticketing technology

While COVID-19 has had a tremendously negative impact on individuals, families, and companies, it has also forced changes in the way business is performed. Before March 2020, paper weigh tickets were common practice. While VDOT allowed e-ticketing at the contractor’s preference per the special provision, it was not required. But, with the fear of transmitting COVID through the handling of documents, VDOT issued a requirement for an electronic form of weigh ticket delivery. The methods used in 2020 covered a broad spectrum of approaches, but as the 2021 paving season started, a method of e-ticketing that meshed with the VDOT special provision was required. During the May Innovation Connection Webcast, HaulHub demonstrated their e-ticketing system that meets VDOT specifications and provided more insight to the contractor.
