VAA members, join us for an informative presentation and open discussion with Virginia Department of Transportation’s Dave Covington on the I-81 Corridor Improvement Program at 4:00 pm on March 9 at The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center. Covington is the I-81 Corridor Improvement Program delivery director. He is responsible for the delivery of more than 64 capital improvement projects along the 325-mile corridor from inception to completion. The projects range from improved signage and signals to major corridor widening.
During his presentation, Covington will review the projects related to the next 10 years of pavement construction, reconstruction and widening. VDOT has already completed several acceleration and deceleration ramp extension projects, is in the process of delivering a corridor widening project near Roanoke and has several other projects underway. Likewise, many more projects are in the plan development pipeline and will be advertised in the coming years.
While there will be a presentation, Covington would like an open discussion with industry on the challenges and opportunities to complete this vital corridor for Virginia and the East Coast of the United States and encourages audience questions and feedback.
Stay after the update for a regional reconnect reception in the hotel. This is a VAA members only event. Space will be limited for the I-81 Corridor update, so please RSVP to Tigre Hammond and let her know you would like a seat at the event.
