COVID relief funds coming to Virginia

At the end of 2020, President Donald Trump signed a $900 Billion COVID Relief bill. Contained in this bill were funds for state departments of transportation. In mid-January, VDOT was informed their portion of the funding would be approximately $252,000,000. While the Bill allowed for various uses of the funds, the final details between FHWA and VDOT have not been finalized. At an upcoming Commonwealth Transportation Board meeting, VDOT will be presenting a plan for these funds. At the VDOT Town Hall on March 26, Commissioner Brich and his senior staff will be joining VAA to discuss how these and other funding measures will impact the transportation program in 2021 and beyond.
