Asphalt Technology: From apprenticeship to associate degree

During the December 10 graduation ceremony at Germanna Community College, a first occurred. Along with the students receiving degrees and certificates in “traditional” curriculum areas, Allen Miller of Chemung Contracting Corp. received his Associate’s Degree through his studies in industrial maintenance and asphalt technology. Allen was first featured in the Washington Monthly’s article focused on individuals pursuing trade degrees while working. Now, Allen has an Associate Degree to go along with his Journeyman’s License in Industrial Maintenance. Congratulations to Allen on his success.
