Although VAA has rescheduled the Annual Meeting until June 17–19, 2020 (see VAA’s Response to COVID-19), registration is still open, and we plan to have an outstanding meeting along the banks of the James River. All previous registrations and hotel rooms will move seamlessly to the new dates. The 2020 VAA Annual Meeting will be hosted at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg. If you haven’t already, make plans to join VAA members and guests at this meeting.
What is planned? Informative and educational presentations will cover topics from the recent Virginia legislative session to new worker insurance options. Guests and members will participate in a workforce round table discussion, and VAA is pleased to have senior leadership from VDOT and the Secretary of Transportation office to discuss current and future transportation initiatives.
While educating is one of the pillars of VAA’s strategic plan, connecting members is as well. The meeting starts Wednesday with the Annual Golf Tournament being played on Kingsmill Resort’s Plantation Course, followed by a kickoff reception. Thursday afternoon provides two fellowship opportunities – the Billsburg Brewery Tour and BBQ Picnic or golf at Kingsmill Resorts’ River Course. Thursday evening will be capped off with a reception, dinner, and after-dinner speaker. Finally, for those die-hard golfers, limited tee times are available at the Colonial Williamsburg Golden Horseshoe Gold Course. Recently re-designed, this course is consistently ranked the Number 1 or 2 public course in Virginia.
